Color Challenge: Green

Color: Green

Spring, Spring, Spring! I've been talking a lot about Spring. Not only are there signs of Spring, but tomorrow, March 20th, Spring will officially be here! Woo hoo! And what better way to kick off Spring than with a blog carnival of color. Last month we celebrated the color pink, but this month, in honor of Spring, we're celebrating green. Just like last month, leave a note in the comments and I'll post a round-up of everyone's green posts next week! Here's some green things from my home to kick things off:

 Glass Insulator

Glass Insulator

I love vintage insulators. Right now I only have one, this pretty green beauty. I used to have more, collected when they weren't collectible, but unfortunately lost them all in a move. Someday I'll add more. I just love the pretty color, the interesting shape and the way the light shines through.

 Metal Basket

Metal Basket

I also have a thing for baskets of all types. This one is a green metal cutwork basket that I found at a craft store a few years ago. I love the soft color and the scalloped edges.

 Green Toolbox

Green Toolbox

You've seen this cute green toolbox before, in part one of my "Why I Thrift" series, but I wanted to include it again here. It's so cute!

 Window Frames

Window Frames

I also have a weakness for architectural salvage, and I found these three matching green window frames for $10 each at the local ReStore--the same place I found my chandelier. I love how distressed they are and the green color.

 Houseplants

Houseplants

Of course, I love plants of all kinds. This ivy topiary and green tree are both from IKEA. Unfortunately I have managed to kill them already, but I'll try again with new plants. For some reason my green thumb only works outdoors, but I keep trying!

 Green Fabric

Green Fabric

I love fabric, too, and my stash includes more green than any other color.

 Chenille Scotty Dog

Chenille Scotty Dog

And finally, my cute softie Scotty, who sits on my office inspiration shelves. He is made out of vintage chenille. I found him on eBay and had to have him. Isn't he cute?

Now it's your turn! To participate, just put up a post featuring green from your home or garden. Make sure you include a link back to this post so I know which post of yours is the right one. Then leave a comment here with a link to your post. I'll leave the comments here open until Sunday night at midnight Pacific Time (March 23rd), and during the week next week I'll post a round-up of all the participating blogs! And if that weren't enough, one lucky participant will win the green trug pictured above! I can't wait to see what you all come up with! :-)

Congratulations, Jill from Forever and Ever House. You're a winner! :-)
