Baby Needs A New Chandelier (Thrifted Chandelier Makeover)
For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you're already heard, but I've been working on Baby Girl's room for the last few days. It started innocently enough (doesn't it always) the other day when I was watching the kids but feeling a hankering to be productive, and I thought, well, I could go through Baby Girl's old clothes, and the next thing you know we're fixing up her room.
That's kind of how things happen around here.
So one of the projects that I did was to spruce up her chandelier.
You may or may not remember this, but I got this chandelier a long, long time ago in a lifetime far, far away when I hadn't had Baby Girl yet. I found it at Habitat.
I thought it would be fun to have it in Rocket Boy's room, but I'm really an Oil-Rubbed Bronze kind of girl (yes, still) so I took all the crystals off and spray-painted that sucker and up it went.
But then boy's room became girl's room and we moved the light, and then girl's room reverted to boy's room but we got him a big bouncy bed and we didn't want him to hit his head on the light fixture so we left it in girl's room.
(...you and my husband both, I promise you....)
And so it stayed. For a very long time.
Of course, if you remember from my true confessions post, now my son's room now looks like this:
But let's not talk about that.
Yesterday I dug out the crystals for the chandelier and put them back on. And thank goodness I blog because I would have never figured out they went in a million years except that I conveniently had pictures! Yay for blogging! I really love this fixture. Not just all the great leaf details:
Or the shiny criss-cross beads like a ballerina or something:
But I adore this big hunky sphere at the bottom. Isn't it the best?
Yes, it's been a long time coming, but finally my little thrifted chandelier has reached it's "after."
